Operational test
Masi and Patti, or Pasi and Matti, chose these as outer gloves for the 2023 Ruska ride across Finland event, where they will ride a little over 2000 km from south to north without outside help in quite variable conditions. The 23-year-old route started in Liepaja, Latvia and ended in Kilpisjärvi. The trip included several days of quite heavy rain.
The gloves have taped seams everywhere except on the fingers. Because of this, they can let water in through the fingers. In the fall, the gloves worked surprisingly well, but in everyday use they have occasionally let water in a few times. A shell glove is a good addition to a thin riding glove, providing extra warmth and protection from the rain. The riding gloves in the fall were Sportful Fiandre Light gloves .
On behalf of Cycled Shop, we have sent a request to Sportful that the seams be taped on the fingers as well, but unfortunately, the manufacturer has not yet responded to this request.
Good:
- packs small and lightweight
- high-quality material
- Wrist ties allow you to wear it over or under your sleeve and stay in place
- good grip surface on the palm side
- plenty of room for driving gloves
Bad
- The finger seams were not taped, but elsewhere they were.
