Designed and manufactured by Salice, the helmet is named after a historic route through the Alps: Gavia. The design is aerodynamic and very compact, which also makes the helmet light, but safety has not been compromised. The padding is minimal and the helmet's design ensures excellent ventilation. The attachment is adjustable according to the circumference of the head and also in height. As an excellent safety bonus, the red LED safety light on the tension strap adjuster.

Also new is a perfectly fitting attachment point for Salice glasses on the helmet, where you can safely attach the glasses when not in use. Salice sunglasses can be purchased in a color that matches the color of your helmet, for example, both in the colors of the Italian flag. We will add color options as new models arrive in stock. You can also send your wishes via chat, send a message using the message form or by email to info@cycledshop.fi

Gavia is available in sizes SM (51-58 cm) and L-XL (58-61 cm).

Riding: Salice Gavia helmet + Salice 022 RWX glasses

I have a strangely shaped, pointed head and it's been hard to find a helmet that fits. The Gavia surprisingly fits my head like a glove. There's quite a bit of adjustment, so it fits different sized domes, as long as the model fits.

The whole helmet is really minimalist and this also applies to the padding. If the model doesn't fit, the padding doesn't forgive much either. The advantage of the thin padding is that it's less likely to cause sweating, and "sweat showers" don't accumulate in the padding. Otherwise, the air circulation in the helmet is really good, and it didn't bother me even in the heat of over ten degrees. Then, towards autumn, you have to put on a pair of glasses, otherwise the cold will definitely hit the dome. The air circulation works really nicely with the Salice 022 glasses, even in the aero position.

A big plus is the glass holders, at least the Salice glasses snap neatly into place and don't fly around. The red LED light on the tightening knob provides a good safety bonus, but I wouldn't recommend it as your only rear light. At the latest, in the dark of autumn, it's worth having a bright and effective rear light on your bike.

+ lightweight and minimalist

+ fit (with reservations depending on head shape)

+ really well ventilated

+ mounting point for goggles

+ red LED light

- thin padding is unforgiving if the shape doesn't fit

- disadvantage of effective ventilation -> in cold weather you probably need at least a windstopper (will test in the fall)
