Hot waxing is an increasingly popular way to lubricate chains. The solid wax does not collect dirt and keeps the entire drivetrain of the bike clean, repelling dirt much better than regular chain oils. BLACK DIAMOND HOT WAX chain wax combines the most lubricating Black Diamond additive technology on the market with Rex's over 70 years of experience in waxes. Switching to hot waxing makes it much easier to keep your bike clean, and saves your chains and sprockets from wear. A hot waxed chain does not mess up or stain, and the chain can be cleaned with just hot water.

TWO-STAGE WAXING OPTION – TUNE YOURSELF FOR THE BEST MIXING RATIO

We transferred the additive content of the already tested Black Diamond chain oil to a solid Rex wax base. To ensure high quality, we put all the Black Diamond additives into one black block, which is hand-cast in our product development laboratory in Hartola. The additive block is like a bottle of Black Diamond chain oil in solid form!

Eleven white Rex paraffin pieces are a carefully selected wax blend, and combined with the additive block, they guarantee the best lubricity on the market. By melting all the pieces (11+1) together, you get a wax blend that works excellently in all conditions.

By melting the additive block with four light wax blocks (4+1) , you get a mixture that provides extreme wear resistance for even the longest runs and races. The remaining 7 wax blocks can be used as a cleaning pre-treatment wax, keeping the 4+1 mixture clean and maintaining its performance for longer. Two-step wax treatment in one package!

Rex has been asked about hot wax for chains many times. We also knew that we, if anyone, absolutely had to make this product. Our chain oils had set the bar high, and we knew that second-best wax was not worth making. Several years of testing off-road, on the road and with the Australian Zero Friction Cycling laboratory test bench finally honed the composition. In tests simulating road riding, Rex clearly beat the most popular chain waxes on the market.
